Common starting points
Start with the problem you recognize.
Select a problem to see what we build, what you get, and what it will not do.
01. The same documents, rebuilt by hand
DeconstructThe problem
Your team rebuilds the same documents over and over. Reports, proposals, intake packets, compliance checklists, client summaries. The structure is the same every time. The starting-from-nothing is the expensive part.
AugmentWhat we build
A custom system built on your documents and your process
A system built on your own templates, your past work, your current standards, and the way your firm structures a document. It produces the first pass, fills in what is routine, leaves gaps where judgment is required, and flags anything that looks off. It is built around your material, not a generic product configured to look like it.
What you get
- The redesigned process for those documents, written down
- A working system built around your documents and your process
- Written procedures for your team
- Training for the people who will use it every day
- Documentation of what it can and cannot do
What it will not do
It will not sign, send, or file anything. It will not make judgment calls that belong to a licensed professional. It will not write the parts of the document that require your expertise, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Who this suits
Firms producing a high volume of similar documents where consistency matters and errors are expensive.
02. Know-how held by one or two people
DeconstructThe problem
One or two people know how things are really done. They answer the same questions all week. When they are out, work slows. When they retire, the firm loses something it cannot buy back.
AugmentWhat we build
Keep what your experts know
A system that holds your firm's actual answers. Not general industry knowledge. Your standards, your methods, your reasoning, drawn from your documents and from structured interviews with the people who hold it.
What you get
- A system your whole team can ask, with answers traced back to the source
- Access controlled by role, so people see what they are supposed to see
- A written record of methods that previously existed only in conversation
- Training so your team knows how to use it and when to escalate
What it will not do
It will not replace mentorship or judgment. It will not answer questions your firm has never answered. It cannot make a junior person senior. It can stop them from guessing.
Who this suits
Firms with concentrated expertise, upcoming retirements, or a hiring plan that outpaces their ability to train.
03. Staff using AI without rules
DeconstructThe problem
Your staff are already using AI tools. Most owners find this out later than they would like. Without guardrails, that is a real exposure: client information in the wrong place, confident wrong answers going out unchecked, and no record of what happened.
AugmentWhat we build
Teach your team to use it without getting burned
Two training tracks and the written rules to go with them. Owners and managers learn what to allow, what to prohibit, what to check, and where the liability actually sits. Staff learn how to use it properly, how to recognize an answer that is wrong, what never goes into it, and when to stop and ask a person.
What you get
- Sessions delivered on-site or remotely
- Written policies, AI guides, SOPs, and procedures your firm keeps
- Reference materials your team will actually use
- A defensible record that your firm trained its people
What it will not do
It will not make your team into engineers. It covers the systems we build and, if you want, the AI tools your staff already use.
Who this suits
Any firm whose staff have access to AI tools, which at this point is nearly all of them.
The range
There is no fixed list of
what can be built.
The three above are common starting points. Builds range from one automated step to a system that coordinates work across the whole firm, with a person approving what goes out.
One task
Simple workflow automation
One repetitive step, done the same correct way every time.
Documentation and paperwork automation
Intake, drafting, classification, routing, and the reporting that follows.
One area of the firm
Custom knowledge assistants
Trained on your firm's own material, answering your firm's questions with your firm's answers.
Training assistants
New hires learn how your firm does it rather than how the internet says it is done.
Website development and upkeep
Built with AI in the workflow, so the site stays current instead of going stale the month after launch.
The whole firm
AI Operating System (AIOS)
One governed system across the business. A coordinated set of custom AI assistants, each dedicated to a core function such as administration, finance, operations, or marketing, running under centralized human oversight. Workflows and metrics are tracked in a custom executive dashboard for visibility and control.
Sometimes the right answer is AI; sometimes standard automation or a process change is enough. How we choose
Every business has different needs and different infrastructure, so every SageLogic system is custom built around your operational requirements. The Industries page includes an example demo video for each industry. Book a discovery conversation to map out what is possible for your firm.
AI governance
Clear rules for every system we build.
AI governance means deciding, in writing, what an AI system is allowed to do, and who is responsible for its work.
Every system we build answers four questions before it goes live. We write the answers with you during design, you approve them, and they stay in force for as long as the system runs.
Governance recordWritten in design
- 01
What can it read?
Only the files and systems you approve.
- 02
What can it do on its own?
Only the tasks you allow. Anything else goes to a person.
- 03
Who checks its work?
A named person at your firm, before anything goes out.
- 04
What gets recorded?
Every request, the sources used, and who approved the result.
Governance sets how the system works. It does not replace your firm's own professional, legal, or regulatory obligations.
The five rules, on every system we build
These are the rules at the base of your governance. There is no version of our work without them. Select a rule to read it.
01It reads your files only.
The system reads only the folders, files, and records you point it at, for example the 400 past reports sitting on your server. It does not search the open internet. It is built so that your firm's and your clients' confidential information stays inside your firm and is not fed into public AI training.
02It shows its sources.
When the system answers a question or drafts a section, it names the file the information came from, for example "Source: 2023 Phase I ESA, page 12." Your team confirms the answer by opening that document rather than taking it on trust.
03A person approves everything.
The system prepares a draft, a package, or a summary, and then stops. Someone at your firm reads it, changes what needs changing, and approves it. Example: the system assembles the permit application and flags what is missing, and the licensed professional reviews it and submits it. Nothing reaches a client, a regulator, or a court because the system decided it was ready.
04It stops when it is unsure.
Before the build starts, we write down the questions the system is not allowed to answer on its own, for example whether a finding is defensible or what position to take on a filing. When one of those comes up, the system does not guess. It stops and routes the question to the person at your firm who owns that decision, named in the system by role and by name.
05You keep what we build.
The system, the documentation, and the training materials belong to your firm once the build is paid for. You are not renting it. We recommend at least three months of monitoring and support after launch. The arrangement is tailored to each firm.
Operational intelligence
Better decisions start with a clearer view of your business.
Many operational problems persist because their causes are hard to see. The systems we build show what is happening, help explain why, and support action, with a person in charge of every decision.
- 01
Visibility
See where work waits, which tasks take the most time, and which projects need attention.
- 02
Insight
Find out why: approval delays, missing information, uneven workloads, or systems that do not connect.
- 03
Action
Routing, exception alerts, AI-assisted processing, better information lookup, and redesigned procedures.
- 04
Improvement
Results compared with the baseline documented in design, and adjusted where needed.
A person is in charge of every decision along the way.
Operational intelligence means using reliable information about how your work runs to make better decisions.
Security
Safer than a public AI chatbot.
Many firms already use AI by pasting client files into a public chatbot. Our systems can run on the same AI models. What makes them safer is the controls we build around them.
We test every system before launch by trying to make it fail, and we recommend a period of monitoring after launch. Where your data is stored and who can reach it is written into your agreement.
No system is free of risk. These controls reduce it.
